The Evangel Mission Group is called to be a vanguard of New Community Church,
providing members of the Church with the resources needed to grow spiritually as
disciples of Christ. We are called to forge unity in Christ's body out of
the diversity of our membership.
We will help members encounter and live into the reality of the Gospel as proclaimed by our Lord, Jesus Christ:
We will proclaim the Gospel through Bible Study classes, public witness, preaching, and dialogue. We recognize our deep need for relationship within the greater body of Christ. We will seek out those who both agree and disagree with us, in order to foster mutual growth within relationships of love and respect. We desire to challenge and be challenged by fellow Christians in order to strengthen and support the connection with the body. We depend upon the Holy Spirit to help us pursue this mission in love and humility. Commitments include (in concert with NCC membership commitment requirements):
In this way we hope to feed, nourish and challenge the spirit of New Community Church.

Courses Include: Basic Bible Survey and Christian Beliefs Outlined in NCC's Faith Statement These courses are offered primarily during the regular Sunday school time frame. Courses on Healing, Prayer, In-depth Bible Study, Call and Gifts and Jesus For example, a Fall 2005 class was called The Book of Job: Our Struggle with Faith and God. For centuries now both Jews and Christians have turned to this ancient text in the hopes of finding comfort and solace in times of trial and suffering. In this class we joined together with our spiritual foremothers and forefathers and read Job as people who are engaged in the push-and-shove struggle that we call faith. These classes, among others, are offered primarily on one evening a week. The evening will also include a simple shared meal with the group. Treasures and Vessels This class is an opportunity for church members to deepen their membership in New Community Church. This course will continue to be offered for those who have committed to being an Exploring Member in NCC. This is our traditional course which introduces the history, traditions, commitments, practices and approach of NCC and Church of the Saviour, our parent church. The focus is on growth in commitment to Christ in the tradition of New Community. Talk to Jim Dickerson or Tania Jackson if you are interested.
